…... no not a new pub … we have a very fine one already … but our very own Hatch Beauchamp book swap cum surplus fruit and veg hub.

Spruced up and ready to serve, the old red phone box from Station Road can now be found at the entrance of the playing field in Village Road and is open for business. Four days on and it already has paperbacks over three shelves and bags of apples.

An honesty box is in place for the recommended donations of 50p per item. Cash received will go towards the upkeep of the phone box, with any surplus donated to charity.

This surely must be a good ‘green’ initiative - reusing, recycling, and sharing.
